My friend Dara is currently teaching me how to use a sewing machine. She taught me how to do a basic stitch in a straight line this week. I am taking baby steps. Our good friend Holly sent us directions on how to appliqué and with her help we added to this little outfit for Quinton...
(Dara did the sewing part)
The prep work was a lot more than we expected.
We did the prep work for 6 different designs on 6 different onesies...
...but this is the only one we actually finished because it takes so much time.
Dara did an amazing job for her first time using this zig zag stitch on the machine.
Also, it was her first time to sew a circle.
Doesn't the dog on this fabric look familiar?
As Dara said, "So appliqué is long hard work." This one is only halfway done.
We are going to sewn buttons on the wheels when we are finished.
This is one of the onesies that is ready to be sewn.
We ironed it on with wonder under and put stitch 'n tear behind it.
I will post more pictures when all the onesies are complete!

yall are so crafty! wish i would have thought of doing this. not sure i could now...so do as many as you can before quinton comes!
